I choose

I choose. 

My lessons this year have come
in what feels like a rubix cube;
a seemingly never ending, tedious, time consuming challenge
whose outcome of success is based solely on choosing not to give up. 

This past year I chose not to give up.
I had really high highs and like you, really low low’s.
I wanted to give up, many times;
do what was easier,
but easier didn’t always mean I would be happier,
so I pushed.

With a new year a day way, I choose to do what I have always done.
Push a little more fervently.

The only way to be better is to BE better.

Do what makes YOU happy.
Push the envelope.
Ask the questions you are scared to ask.
Go places you have never been.
Be honest.
Be kind.
Stand up for yourself.
Do not give yourself to anyone who does not appreciate you,
and do not be sorry for other peoples mistakes.
When you are no longer getting what you want, leave.

Love those who love you.
Smile and most importantly,
never give up.

Like Bey said,
“Ima keep running cuz a winner don’t quit on themselves”.

In Those Jeans

If I could wear these jeans everyday,
I would.

I bought them a few years ago at Zara
and what I love most about them is how
they keep getting better with time.

I’ve had to sew some parts back together,
written on them more times than I can remember,
and the more I wear them
the better they get.

They are the perfect boyfriend jeans
and literally go with everything.

On this day I dressed them up with another new fave:
this black coat by Calvin Klein.

This coat is everything I want.
The flexibility and quality of the material,
the high fur collar, the belted cuffs, and the hardware makes this
coat all kinds of Yesssss.

Chunky Sweaters

I have a love/hate relationship with fall.

Half of me thinks, ‘I wasn’t built for this weather, give me
heat, salt water and anything above 25 degrees-
I just want to throw on a dress
and some cute heels’

The other half of me checks into reality and
heads straight to Zara to find big comfy sweaters like this
one.

Sweaters that make this weather, a little more bearable.

I actually found this sweater two years ago (yup).
I was at school and wasn’t prepared for the cold weather
(let’s be honest – who is really ever prepared?)

So I headed to Zara, threw it over whatever I was wearing
and fell in love with it + it did its job and kept me warm-
I was a happy student.

I loved the way it hung off my shoulder
and the knit was perfect.
I immediately started thinking of
the many other ways I could wear it,
and headed straight to the register.

Two years later, and it still looks brand new.
I love you Zara!

I paired it with with these Kenneth Cole
boyfriend jeans, and my beloved
Mackage handbag and headed out of the morning.

I’m still not (mentally) prepared for the cold,
but sweaters like these are super stylish +
they make handling the fall weather-
easier

Because of Bae

Every girl has been shopping with a guy
hoping that he might care
about what she tries on,
or even better
– help her.

A Kanye to a Kim
(Not to THEIR level- I mean,
does she even pick out her own clothing anymore!?)
…
but you know what I mean;
a man that cares to help you shop.

My Kanye picked out this amazing hat for me
while out shopping a while ago,
and I’m kind of obsessed.

Not only did he help, but he picked out the
perfect fall accessory.
The colour is fab, it fits like a glove and
it adds a little flare to an otherwise “plain” outfit.

And I, like many of you,
like to wear my newer things
as soon as I get them.

I paired my fedora with these cute
and funky Aldo leather sandals that
match perfectly and my favourite combo,
denim on denim

I can’t wait to style this fedora with some cute fall outfits!
