Remember?

In case you haven’t noticed (here and here)
I have an obsession with denim
and most recently, these vegan leather pants.

I can’t help but think of the FRIENDS episode
when Ross buys leather pants and wears them on a date.
(remember that episode? Hilarious!)
The date inevitably turns bad when he retreats to the bathroom to cool off
(from the heat of the leather pants)
and can’t get his pants back up.
His solution? powder and lotion … ummmmm?

Thankfully that is not the case here!
These Artizia Daria Pants are made
of an innovative vegan leather making them
a) so super comfortable &
b) easy to wear & move in

My legs stay powder-less and I can move easily
(without the squeak)

Besides being squeak-less,
these pants can be worn a million and one ways;

Girls Winter Weekend Getaway

Sometimes you just need getaway with your best friends
and enjoy a long weekend doing pretty much, nothing.

We drove north for 2 hours to this beautiful lakefront chalet in Brechin.
It had just snowed and everything was perfectly covered in white,
making for the most picturesque weekend.

With floor to ceiling windows,
I watched the sun rise every morning
(because I was always somehow the first one up)
with nothing to obstruct my view.
I loved it.

After walking on water (true story) in my winter faves
(my Maje coat, Cougar boots, Nike tights and Toque from HMP boutique)
and exploring the lake,
the girls came out and joined me

We spent the weekend eating, drinking, talking,
relaxing, playing games like Speak Out
(I spent more time laughing than speaking, or attempting to),
playing in the snow -there were at least 3 snowball fights,
and laughing so hard it hurt.

Spending time with them brought me back to me
and gave me abs (from non-stop laughing)

What Are You Waiting For?

Over-ambitious.
Always have been.
Always will be.

When I was 5 or 6 I wanted to be a gymnast.
When I was 7 I wanted to be a ballerina
When I was 8 I wanted to be … actually,
I don’t remember what I wanted when I was 8.
I was busy playing outside.

Later I remember wanting to be a marine biologist,
and then a lawyer (after falling in love with law in high-school).

There wasn’t anything I didn’t think I could do.

Always being told I could be ANYTHING I wanted,
my mind knew no different.

I still think I can do anything I want.

I am exploring the option of going back to school part-time
because you can never really know enough, right?
That plus, I actually really like school.

Is there something you’ve been wanting to do?
A dance class you’ve wanted to take?
A country you want to visit?

Make it happen!

P.s how sick are these Steve Madden boots?
The studded detailing is EVERYTHING
and they are the pefect combo of
functional and fashionable.

I choose

I choose.

My lessons this year have come
in what feels like a rubix cube;
a seemingly never ending, tedious, time consuming challenge
whose outcome of success is based solely on choosing not to give up.

This past year I chose not to give up.
I had really high highs and like you, really low low’s.
I wanted to give up, many times;
do what was easier,
but easier didn’t always mean I would be happier,
so I pushed.

With a new year a day way, I choose to do what I have always done.
Push a little more fervently.

The only way to be better is to BE better.

Do what makes YOU happy.
Push the envelope.
Ask the questions you are scared to ask.
Go places you have never been.
Be honest.
Be kind.
Stand up for yourself.
Do not give yourself to anyone who does not appreciate you,
and do not be sorry for other peoples mistakes.
When you are no longer getting what you want, leave.

Love those who love you.
Smile and most importantly,
never give up.

Like Bey said,
“Ima keep running cuz a winner don’t quit on themselves”.

Walkin’ In a Winter Wonderland

There is nothing prettier than a fresh snow fall.
The city is blanketed in white with almost soundproof like snow
and with Christmas Eve exactly a week away,
there is nothing I want more than a white Christmas.

I took a break from the madness of Christmas shopping
to host a dinner for my closest friends.

I headed to the cheese boutique
which is actually my new favourite place and
bought 6 kinds of cheese because go big or go home, right?
From triple cream brie (my new found love)
to lactose free lappi cheese,
I made sure I had something for everyone.

We ate, drank, laughed, snapped
(opting for the deer filter because what could be more fitting),
did the mannequin challenge- successfully
and called it a night at 2:30 am.

We all get busy, especially around the holidays but
it is so important to make time for the people you love.

An Extra Hour

Celeste always says,

“What you need is sleep”.

After a very long and amazing work week
there was nothing I wanted more.

With the clocks going back an hour
I got the extra hour of sleep that I very much needed;
I woke up feeling like a new person.

Plus the weather is AAA-Mazing today;
Can it stay like this for the rest of the year?

Except for Christmas Eve, I need snow.

But for now this weather is perfect.
Off to dinner

In Those Jeans

If I could wear these jeans everyday,
I would.

I bought them a few years ago at Zara
and what I love most about them is how
they keep getting better with time.

I’ve had to sew some parts back together,
written on them more times than I can remember,
and the more I wear them
the better they get.

They are the perfect boyfriend jeans
and literally go with everything.

On this day I dressed them up with another new fave:
this black coat by Calvin Klein.

This coat is everything I want.
The flexibility and quality of the material,
the high fur collar, the belted cuffs, and the hardware makes this
coat all kinds of Yesssss.
